Program Description:

From crime theories to victim needs and treatment, the online Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice program at Walden University addresses basic psychological methods and schools of thought while emphasizing the social, cognitive and psychological influences of the causes of crime and criminal behavior. Concentration courses offer studies in the perspectives of crime, criminal profiling and its use in investigations, restorative justice processes, community responses to crime, and legislative and ethical issues relating to victim's rights and treatment. The program's core curriculum covers personality theories, psychological inquiry methods, the role of culture in psychological development, and psychological theories in areas of emotions, cognition, learning, motivation, and social behavior. For the capstone project, students choose an area of psychology on which to create a final paper.
